Long Term Strategic Planning with City of London for parkland at risk
A long running project to agree the best strategy for Grade II* Wanstead Park, for the City of London has meant challenging decisions over some of the hardest aspects of this complex site, now on Historic England’s ‘Heritage at Risk’ register. These include lake restoration in the context of the Reservoirs Act, devising an affordable and credible strategy for buildings and landscape as well as working with the many interested parties, stakeholders and adjoining landowners. With changing grant programmes, strained budgets and stakeholder priorities, this Parkland Restoration Plan is now nearing agreement.
